DIET:
Fresh, water must always be available.  Do NOT give cow's milk as this may cause diarrhoea.

Your kitten has been brought up on a diet of boiled/roast   chicken, turkey (once weekly) , cooked fish  (once a week), whiskas / felix / iam's / Hilife kitten pouches / cat food. We also have dry food down at all times.. they are used to James Wellbeloved, Royal Canin and Hills.

Avoid liver/heart/kidney based goods as these may cause upset tummies in a small kitten. Other tinned foods may be tried but only in small amounts until you are sure they agree with your kitten.

As a kitten's stomach is delicate, please keep to the foods recommended for a week or so to prevent an upset tummy. It is also important not to introduce any new foods during this time. In case of diarrhoea please feed boiled fresh meat, e.g chicken with plain boiled rice. If the problem doesn't clear within 24 hours, please seek veterinary advice. If you change your kitten's diet, please do so gradually over a period of time. This will help your kitten's stomach to adjust to it's new diet.

Use a low-sided dish for your kitten's food and always feed your kitten in the same place so that he/she will know where to feed. Food should always be fed at room temperature ..your kitten is used to at least 4 meals per day from now until 5 months of age .. 3 meals from around 5 to 6 months … then 2 meals from 6 months onwards.

BEDDING:

This should be clean, dry and away from draughts.

LITTER TRAINING:

Your kitten has been trained to use wood-based cat litter. Do not change as this may cause your kitten to stop using the tray. The tray should be cleaned after each time it is used, washed out and bleached regularly.

NEUTERING:

Unless your kitten has been purchased for breeding please neuter at six months of age or at your vet's recommendation.

GENERAL:

A scratching post should be available, also plenty of toys, ping pong balls, toy mice (the ideas are endless). If your kitten uses the furniture, take it to its permitted scratching post. Siamese and Orientals are very intelligent and will soon learn. It is permitted to clip the tips only of the claws, using a pair of nail clippers. If you have not had Siamese before, "siamese cats" by Mary Dunhill published by Batsford, or "siamese cats" by Kathleen Williams published by Foyles are good inexpensive books you may find useful. We Sincerely hope that you and your kitten have many happy years together. If we can be of any further help, please do not hesitate to contact us :
